1
Today’s travel will take us briefly South then East on
one of Washington’s scenic by ways. Once across the
Cascade Mountains we will enter the beautiful Kittitas
Valley – famous for its apples, pears and soft fruit
crops. Crossing the Columbia River into Oregon, our
route closely parallels the historic Oregon Trail,
taking us past cities such as Pendleton, once a resting
place for weary settlers on their way to the Willamette
Valley of Oregon. This afternoon we enter the beautiful
Grande Ronde Valley on our way to our overnight
Accommodations in Oregon.
